Best pacifier invented, like EVER.

For most mothers the pacifier can be a life saver. Most newborns have them, even the big round round ones that they give them in the hospital. When my son was a newborn he wouldn't sleep without one. The hardest part was him falling asleep with one and waking up every 15 minutes when he was crying because it fell out. As a new mother you'll probably be very very sleep deprived and tired, this won't be fun.

I started out buying the cute regular pacifiers at the local WalMart, before he was even born... That ended pretty quick because when they were sanitized they collected water on the inside. It took them forever to dry and there would still be water residue, hello mold!

I started only using the big hospital one but that wasn't great because I only had 1 and it got lost A LOT. And if we were out in public and it got dropped, say hello to fussy baby. I soon found a pacifier called the Gumdrop. It was made out of the same material and looked very similar to the hospital provided one except it wasn't round. It was more shaped and lighter. This picture shows the difference between the Gumdrop and the Soothie.

We loved the Gumdrops! My son loved them because they were the same nipple shape as his soothie, I loved them because they didn't fall out as much when he was sleeping. Another thing I loved was that they came in cuter colors, like blue instead of the green, and they came scented vanilla. They smelled like cupcakes! We started out with 6 and they started going missing one by one. We bought more... weeks later, missing more. So I got online and started looking....

So this now brings me to my favorite pacifier, the Wubbanub. See, it even sounds cute. We called it the "wub" instead of pacifier. Before I show you how cute these things are here is why we loved them SO SO SO very much.

1. They have a stuffed animal attached/come in many animals. How stinkin cute!
2. Since they have that animal they're harder to lose or fall away from a baby who can't yet put a pacifier back in.
3. They really did help my son sleep. He would have a bottle at night and he would rub his animal on the side of his face. (his bother is a hair twirler, he's a face/ear rubber)
4. When you're ready to take the pacifier away you can cut the pacifier off the animal and you child still has something to hold.
5. To wash/sanitize just throw it in your washer with anything you wash on warm/hot and then let it air dry.
6. Safe for baby! The beads that are in it are sealed off in cloth bags so it a part of it happens to rip your child doesn't have a mouthful of beads or stuffing.

My son loved these. They come in many different animals. My son had a lion, dinosaur, monkey, and an elephant. He ended up going through a phase where he was throwing everything in the garbage can though and he threw away his monkey and elephant, my favorite ones :( Here is the Wubbanub direct website to show you most of the options. Some of the Wubbanubs aren't on here because they also make special ones for companies. They have a really cute line of Mary Meyer Wubbanubs that can be found on ebay and amazon. They also have a special edition lion and dragon.

Anyway they are a little pricey at $12.95+ depending on which one BUT in my book they were worth it which is why we spend that much money on 4 of them. This is one of my favorite baby products and I recommend them to anyone and will even be buying some more when the time comes to have another baby.
